First full weekend of each month, steam train rides are available from the restored Sheffield Railway Station at Sheffield. REDWATER CREEK STEAM AND HERITAGE SOCIETY currently has over 1km of track and full rail safety accreditation under the Tasmanian Government’s Rail Safety Act to operate our heritage railway. Our steam train is hauled by a 1906 Krauss 610mm gauge loco and consists of Tasmanian heritage coaches – a hundred years old and still going strong!

SPECIAL SCHOOL RUNNING- December 27th through to January 8th 2017 we are running our steam train every day. A great time to bring your playgroup, daycare kids or yourselves with your grandchildren.

While there you can also see some of our other steam machinery working, and enjoy some real coffee and hot chocolate in the updated station cafe!
